7 Uses for the New / Improved Master Slide Decks

I’m often asked which of my many tools and resources for sustainability champions are the most useful. The answer is easy: my Master Slide Decks. The six slide decks are a goldmine of over 900 slides with topical insights and context about accelerators and barriers to progress on sustainability issues in the business community. There are 7 uses for the new / improved Master Slide Decks that make them my most valuable resource.

As a quick and easy way to build your own slide decks for presentations on sustainability-related topics. That is their main purpose, and why the ready-to-use slides are provided in .pptx format under the most liberal Creative Commons license.

1. As micro-courses / tutorials / refreshers on key aspects of sustainability that are of interest. Use the slides’ footnotes to further explore source documents of interest.
2. As learning resources for courses. Subscribing teachers are encouraged to use the slides in their presentations, upload the decks to the database of student materials, and/or require that students use the slides as resources in assignments.
3. As Coles Notes / Cliffs Notes of the key points in my six books and two whitepapers. The slides summarize their highlights and include many cases / examples that are referenced.
4. As an overview of over a dozen of my free, open-source tools downloadable from sustainabilityadvantage.com. They provide helpful context for their origins and intended uses.
5. As a way to stay current and credible on hot topics. The “What’s New” deck in subscribers’ quarterly updates includes slide-based summaries the latest articles and reports about a variety of sustainability-related topics.
6. As conversation starters with colleagues and senior management. Seize a timely opportunity to share a subset of the slides with them with a “What do you think …?” invitation, and follow up with a meeting to discuss the relevance to their organization.

The decks have been available for years. I use selected slides in my 60-80 talks annually and update the decks every quarter. This summer, I converted them all into a brighter, widescreen template and a more consistent font. I pruned some, added others, updated many, and reformatted them all. They were good before. The new / improved decks are really good now.
